Starting something new

I dont know about you, but I'm the type of person that doesn't like to start something without knowing exactly how I'm going to finish it.  I'm not sure how I got this way, but it seems to keep me from trying new things.  Lately I've been learning about the need each of us have to create, produce, explore and experiment.  Without doing this, it's hard to understand what my passions are, and what it is I'm desiring to offer to the world around me.  The beauty of life is that we are able to experiment and explore, and in so doing create something that is a gift to everyone around us.  If you've never heard of Patrick Dodson, you should drop what you're doing and look him up at PatrickDodson.com.  His book entitled "Things My Dad Never Told Me About Relationships" has been a very eye-opening read for me.  I'm realizing more and more that oppurtunities are to be embraced.  I have this tendency to sit around and wait for something to come along, without really knowing what I'm looking for.  So I've decided to start something new.  I've always loved gardening, so even though I'm not totally sure what I'm doing I'm starting a garden from seeds this year... in my room.  It's pretty weird to walk into, but hey, at least I'm trying it.  I really believe God has placed a creative spark in each of us that helps us to connect to him and understand his heart for us.  An important scripture in my life has always been Colossians 3:23-24, which talks about doing everything as if it was done for God.  This has always caused me to pursue excellence, but only recently has it gotten deeper.  I want everything I do to be a unique offering.  Not just enough to get by, but something special, unique, produced and not kept but given away.  I'm hoping that as I continue to grow, I would continue to discover more about my passions, and as I discover them that they would build up and lift up everyone around.  Thanks for listening, here's until next time
